Fashionable.Wanderlust. Effortless.Colorful. Passionate
Are just a few words to describe the Sweet Like Oyin Brand. Oyin who is a Lifestyle Blogger & Digital Content Creator states on her website “Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” Apart from the obvious that she is strikingly naturally beautiful, Oyin has a passion to help others. She states that her goal is to share daily insights on her life, and provide others with tools to improve everything from personal development to branding. She proves that she is the total package with her beauty and brains, and all about her business. Check out my interview with her below. Enjoy!
1. Hello! Please let everyone know who you are! What is your full name?
Hey Beautiful People! My name is Oyin Edogi. Thank you so much for having me on your blog. I’m really excited to be here!
2. Where were you born & raised? Did your upbringing have an influence on your style and passion for traveling?
I was born in New York where I was partially raised and ended up moving to Arizona when I was 8. Growing up, I always had an eye for style and a passion for traveling, which I attribute to my upbringing. My mom loved dressing us up and when I got old enough to dress myself, I always loved coming up with different looks. As far as traveling, my dad was the king of a road trip. We drove everywhere mainly because our family was so large and it was cheaper to navigate. It only made sense for that natural curiosity to lead me to exploring the world.
3. Can you please tell me where did the inspiration come from to start “Sweet Like Oyin”?
Sweet Like Oyin was birthed from wanting to help others tap into their potential. I always knew there was something special about me, but I didn’t quite know how to translate that for the world to see. I started off doing multiple hobbies and then over time I honed in on Travel. My goal is to inspire others through my personal journey.
4. How do you normally take your pictures for content? Personal Photographer? Phone? Canon Camera?
I normally take my photos a few different ways. I trade off between shooting with a fellow blogger friend using my professional camera, using my regular iPhone camera, or setting up my tripod and clicker.
5. What are some of your daily essentials and fashion staples to have when traveling?
My daily essentials and fashion staples to have when traveling include my portable fan, sunscreen, lipgloss, slip dress and of course comfortable shoes.
6. Do you have any advice or tips for readers who would love to travel but don’t want to break the bank?
My best advice and tips for readers who would love to travel but don’t want to break the bank would be exploring new spaces doesn’t have to mean visiting the Bali Swing or rafting in the Grand Canyon. Travel is a state of mind. It has nothing to do with existence or the exotic. It’s always an inner experience that can be found even if it’s in your own backyard! You don’t have to spend a lot of money to start exploring now. You can research places in your own city or surrounding cities that can you give you the same escape feel. If you really want to hop on a plane, you can use sites like Skyscanner or Hopper to track prices on destinations when they are cheapest. You can also look towards teaching English in another country to get the experience of traveling while still being employed.
7. Do you prefer solo or group travel? Which one & why?
I prefer solo travel over group travel because I like to go where I want to go when I like to go. I’m happy with sitting in silver and just observing my surroundings. It might sound weird to some but it works for me.
8. What are 3 words that you would use to describe your brand? And Why?
The 3 words I would use to describe my brand are creative, boundless, and adventurous. I consider myself creative in the type of content that I put out. I’m boundless in rems of not having a limit to what I can create. Lastly, my brand is adventurous because of the explorations I find myself taking.
9. At the end of the day, what kind of legacy do you want to leave behind for people to remember you by?
At the end of the day, I want to leave a legacy that will inspire people to live the life they love. I want people to feel empowered to start that business, blog or YouTube channel – essentially whatever they are passionate about.
10. How can people get in contact with you via email or social media outlets?
Feel free to follow me on all social platforms at @SweetLikeOyin. I’m active on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and TikTok. If you want to email me any questions, it’s firstname.lastname@example.org
