When you have a passion for anything, NOTHING will stop you from reaching your dreams. Queens Native, James Worthy is from the city that never sleeps! He has been grinding and working hard over the last six years, to make his mark in the music industry. He has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of artists, so Check out my interview with him below!

1.What is your full name? and where are you from?

My name is James Worthy. I am from the city that never sleeps which New York!

2.How long have you been doing music?

I have been doing music since the age of 16. I began professionally by 17.

3.Who are your musical influences? Do you think music has changed for the better or worse from past generations?

Michael Jackson was a huge influence throughout my musical journey. unnamed copyThe impact he’s had for culture was incredible. Music I think now is evolving to where there isn’t really genres to pin point what a record is anymore. Its all about the creativity. My only concern is the content on the music. I think it has changed dramatically to where anything is considered quality.

4.What inspired you to want to become apart of the industry as a producer? How long have you been a music producer?

Life and song made me fall in love with music. The more I studied the craft and the musicians that came before me the more I felt the need to express myself through music. At that moment I knew I wanted to become a music producer. I’ve been in the industry going on 6 years and counting.

5.Can you tell me about some of the artists you have worked with thus far?

Ive worked with artists from: Truth Hurts, Sara Stokes, Bobby Brown Jr, Men At Large, Don Cannon, Bobby Brown, Eshe of Arrested Development, Trey Songz, and many others.

6.What is the biggest obstacle you’ve had to overcome in your career thus far?unnamed-5

Not only gaining respect for the craft but constantly reminding yourself that your work is worth it even though there many be negative energy trying to bring you down.

7.What kind of legacy will you leave in the music industry?

My legacy will mean that not only did I work with amazing talent but I endorsed equality for the culture of music, and innovative for everyone to follow their dreams to become their own brands.

8.Do you have any upcoming projects releasing you would like people to know about?

Yes! I have a brand new single with Sara Stokes formerly known of Making the band Entitled “Sneak Peek” Ft Babs Releasing July 11th!..I have a single with Truth Hurts entitled “Fight 4 Love” releasing August of 2015! I will be starring in the new reality show “From The Bottom Up” airing on BET this fall..Stay tuned everyone!
