On Saturday, January 17, 2016, I had the opportunity to try out another Brunch Spot called ” Front Page News”. It definitely was an interesting experience so check out my review below.
I drove about 30 minutes to the Moreland Avenue location, so I definitely did not want to leave disappointed. As I arrived, I noticed that there was valet parking but the lot was full, so I ended up paying $5 at a neighboring parking lot. Since it was Sunday after 2pm, the wait time was about 30-45 minutes. Now an hour before I went, I called to see if I needed to make reservations, but was told over the phone that it was not needed. As I approached the restaurant and saw people waiting, I had a feeling that making a reservation would have been my best bet. When I spoke to the waitress she told me that whoever I spoke to on the phone gave me false information ( They don’t allow people to make reservations). So annoyed, I still put my name down. When I went back to ask the hostess a question, she quickly caught an attitude. Her attitude was a huge turn off, and she was also acting that way towards other customers. I then started to question if I should stay or leave, but luckily the experience went up from there.
Finally after waiting for about thirty minutes, we were seated. Our Server unlike the hostess was very friendly, so I was happy about that. It only took about 10-15 minutes for our food to come out so it wasn’t that bad. But unfortunately while our food was coming out, half of our food fell on the floor, so we had to wait another 10 minutes ( luckily we ordered an appetizer so they brought us another plate free of charge). So I know you are wondering… what did I order? Well I was accompanied by two friends so two of us had french toast, potatoes, sausage, & bacon, while our other friend had Jambalaya. They also do have different drink specials ( ex. mimosas $20, cocktails $6-7, fish bowls $20+ etc) but we didn’t order any. Overall the food was tasty so no complaints there. The prices range from ($7-$30) depending on how hungry you are and how many dishes or sides you want to order.
Note: *Whenever you want to try a new restaurant out “hashtag” on Instagram (If you don’t have it google images) the name of the restaurant to see actual plates of food that customers have uploaded themselves, so you can see how certain dishes look. I ALWAYS do this, so I have an idea of what to look forward to.*
