Batters & Berries- Chicago

On Sunday August 14, 2016, I had the opportunity to try out a new Brunch Spot in Chicago called ” Batters & Berries”. Since I now live in Chicago, you know I had to try out a great Brunch Spot since Chicago is known for great restaurants. I have always heard lots of great things about this restaurant and their ” Signature Flight of French Toast (pictured below) so here’s my review on my experience.

I drove about 25 minutes to the Lincoln Park location, so I definitely did not want to leave disappointed. In Chicago knowing how to parallel park is a must. Since I haven’t mastered that yet, I did not park in the street. I just paid a nearby gas station $10 to park my car there. Since it was Sunday after 11am, the wait time was about an hour and 30 minutes. The restaurant is not as big for the amount of people who try to eat there. Reservations can not be made in advance unfortunately. So my friend & I had a decision to make- wait or leave. We decided to stay since we were already there.

Finally after waiting for about and hour and 15 minutes, we were seated. Our Server was very friendly, so I was happy about that. It only took about 10-15 minutes for our food to come out so it wasn’t that bad. They are known for their french toast but I wanted to try something different. I went with their Sweet Potato Waffle with Fried Chicken and cheese hashbrowns. I was really excited about it since I love Sweet Potato waffles, but it tasted more like chocolate. I didn’t like it and was able to switch it out for their Signature Flight of French Toast. It was a sample of their strawberry, blueberry, lemon & caramel french toast served with their B&B maple butter. It was pretty good, but too sweet for me. It is something that you can not eat all the time. I also didn’t know that you can BYOB (bring your own bottle- supposedly thats big here in Chicago).

Note: *Whenever you want to try a new restaurant out “hashtag” on Instagram the name of the restaurant to see actual plates of food that customers have uploaded themselves, so you can see how certain dishes look. Also check Yelp. I ALWAYS do this, so I have an idea of what to look forward to.*

  1. Batters and berries was nice I liked that place. You should also check out wildberry restaurant but there’s no street parking available in that area. It’s literally in downtown Chicago.

    1. Thank you for reading ! I’ve been to Wildberry three times … If you look on the blog I did a review on there as well
