The Evolution of Makeup

IMG_3635

I remember the days when you could just walk out the house with a natural face, and not have to worry about spending hours at a time applying makeup on, to simply go to the mall. Getting your makeup done was saved for special occasions, like a wedding or birthday celebration.  Now some women of this generation, cannot fathom the fact of leaving the house without even putting foundation on. While nothing is wrong with makeup some days, I feel like 7 days out the week is a bit extreme. You need to be able to let your face breathe.  Makeup is supposed to enhance your features…not make you look like a completely different person. I can’t blame some guys for feeling some type of way about makeup. Some of these transformations are a bit deceiving to who the person really is or looks like.

Makeup is definitely not cheap either, but don’t just settle for anything. You do not want to use cheap products on your face and break out horribly. Unfortunately you are going to have to spend some money on quality makeup. And these days it’s more than just blush and lip gloss. There are different types of lipsticks, eyeliners, concealer for contouring and eyebrows ( Check out an OLD blog called ” Eyebrows on Fleek”) and so much more.

Being a Makeup Artist (MUA)  is definitely a great way to make money at the moment. Many women don’t have the money to buy all of these certain products, or simply do not know how to apply them, so they hire someone else to do it. BUT if you are trying to learn, YOUTUBE is your best friend! You may spend countless hours of watching many videos, and practicing, but it will all be worth it!

I never really got into makeup until last year honestly. My friends are the top fashionistas when it comes to clothes and makeup, so I knew I had to learn quick and fast. Now I am definitely nowhere near being a makeup consultant, but I have mastered what works for my face. It is important to know what works for you and your face. Don’t be afraid to take risks, but also know there’s a time and a place to wear a bold and daring lip color.

Enjoy and embrace your natural face, and put the countless hours spent in the mirror into something else. I know some people may use makeup as a way to conceal how they are feeling inside, or their low self esteem issues. But you don’t have to hide behind layers of makeup to feel important or beautiful. So don’t let society make you feel that you have to wake up hours earlier than you need to each day to put makeup on. Use it when it is really necessary! Below I have some pictures of how makeup can enhance or simply transform some people.

**These are random pictures found on the Internet or Social Media Outlets not meant to purposely bash anyone, but to show the drastic change that makeup can do to someone**

I’ll even use myself as the first example 🙂
